A Nomad's Soul, A Designer's Eye
André Blas

Having lived as a nomad for more than a decade, constantly travelling and staying in spaces around the world, from friends’ homes to hotels and Airbnbs, I developed a sensitive, poetic eye for the harmonies hidden behind the clutter within a space, quietly and naturally rearranging the objects, pieces of furniture and artworks. A cushion moved here, a light redirected there, two paintings changing places — gentle gestures of realignment that transformed outgrown and overlooked rooms into reinvigorated spaces of ease, elegance and comfort. Soulful sanctuaries.
From Rio to Hamburg, Malibu to Bali, what began as a personal instinct to help my friends and make myself more comfortable, not only by creating coziness and beauty, but also imaging better ways to organize pantries, cabinets, closets, it gradually became a recognized intuitive gift — one that my hosts and friends around the world noticed, welcomed, and even anticipated.
That external change my work caused naturally led to an internalised sense of spaciousness and newness in the owners of the spaces.
Everything started to feel less tangled, clouded and tight.
These moments planted the seeds for what would become Estia,
a project now shared with my good friend and collaborator Adelheid.

With more than 20 years of experience in design, I offer a unique, result-driven perspective on spaces.
Born and raised on a vineyard in southern Austria, I studied Painting and Textile Design in Vienna and Salzburg, followed by Communication Design at Pratt Institute in New York City.
Vibrant and approachable, I am known for my bubbly personality and exceptional interpersonal skills.
My work with renowned architect Rafael Viñoly (2002-2004) was a major influence on my vision and career.
On occasion, I can be found weaving textiles, capturing moments with my Leica, cooking for friends, skiing in the Alps, and playing a spirited game of ping pong.
